What NOT to Say to a Pregnant Woman
I am a pregnant lady who seems to get a lot of strange comments from (mostly) well-meaning friends, family, and even complete strangers. I thought I would write some of them down. This blog is all in fun. I (hardly ever) take offense when someone feels the need to comment on my pregnancy status, however I do find a lot of the comments funny! Please take this blog as it was intended, all in jest! ;)

"You get how long for maternity leave? Must be nice to have a two month vacation!"
If by "vacation" you mean, getting no sleep, responding to a crying baby 24/7, and changing diapers, then break out the Hawaiian shirts!
"Eating for two I see..."
Nope. Actually, this is how I normally eat. But thanks for telling me that. I haven't worried about things enough today as it is...
"I know you want a girl this time."
Why does everyone assume that I want a little girl. Yes, I have a little boy already, but you know what? I kind of like him, and another one wouldn't be so bad. Yes, I'd be happy if I had a girl, but little boys are great too.
"Are you going to gain less weight this Pregnancy?"
Yes, I know the last time I was pregnant I looked like a beached whale. I remember that I gained 40 lbs and I looked ridiculous. Thanks for the reminder.
"But you're not even THAT Pregnant!"
Someone said that to me when I was complaining about morning sickness. Needless to say, this person had never been pregnant before. I took it easy on them and chose not to get sick on their shoes.
"You have that Pregnant look!"
I was exactly 6 weeks along when a family member told me this. At 6 weeks I'm pretty sure that I had lost weight, and I certainly was not showing. As such, I had a hard time figuring out what this person meant by their comment. I can only conclude that the "Pregnant Look" closely resembles the "Nausea Look". Not sure that's a compliment that I want.
